BOOM LABRUSCA QUESTIONS WHY PWD IDS EXPIRE DESPITE PERMANENT DISABILITIES

Actor Boom Labrusca has sparked discussions online after questioning why Persons with Disabilities (PWD) identification cards have expiration dates, especially for individuals living with permanent disabilities.
In a social media post, Boom raised a thought-provoking question about the need for repeated ID renewals when certain disabilities, such as limb loss or permanent blindness, do not simply disappear over time.
He explained that his main concern was the inconvenience experienced by individuals with permanent disabilities who must repeatedly go through the renewal process.
While some netizens pointed out that renewals help authorities verify whether cardholders are still alive and keep official records updated, Boom suggested exploring more convenient alternatives.
Among his suggestions was allowing individuals with permanent disabilities to update their information through a simpler process, such as a phone call.
He also proposed the term "PWPD" or "Person with Permanent Disabilities" to distinguish individuals with permanent conditions who might benefit from different renewal requirements.
