COMPLAINT FILED BY ALFRED VARGAS AGAINST ROB SY DISMISSED

      Section image

Rob Sy and his family welcomed the dismissal of a child abuse complaint filed by Quezon City councilor Alfred Vargas and his wife, Yasmine Vargas, over an alleged bullying incident involving their children. Sy said the Manila City Prosecutor’s Office dismissed the complaint in a May 12, 2026 resolution, citing insufficient basis to pursue criminal charges.

The family denied that their child is a bully and said they chose to trust the legal process despite facing online hostility and premature judgment. They also thanked relatives, co-parents, witnesses, friends, swimming teams, and their legal team for their support.

Sy said their priority now is to protect their child’s peace, emotional security, and well-being, while appealing to the public to avoid irresponsible judgment in cases involving minors. Vargas, meanwhile, said his family respects due process and plans to explore available legal options.
