EXTREME HEAT ALERT: SOME AREAS MAY REACH 43°C HEAT INDEX

      Section image

DOST-PAGASA forecasts extreme heat across several Philippine areas, with Dagupan City reaching a peak heat index of 43°C and many locations at 42°C. Affected areas include Tuguegarao, Coron, Iba, Subic Bay, Iloilo City, and parts of Nueva Ecija and Mindoro.

These levels fall under the “danger” category, increasing the risk of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. High humidity intensifies the impact by limiting the body’s ability to cool down.

Residents should avoid outdoor activity during peak hours, stay hydrated, and seek well-ventilated spaces. Authorities are urged to monitor vulnerable groups as extreme heat conditions persist.
