FRESH START FOR RENE BATERBONIA’S FAMILY WITH NEW CONDOMINIUM UNIT

The family of the late student-athlete Rene Baterbonia has been given a new condominium unit valued at around ₱2.3 million, marking a significant change after years of living in an ancestral home vulnerable to flooding.
The turnover took place on Friday, June 26, according to the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur. For more than two decades, the Baterbonia family reportedly endured repeated evacuations whenever heavy rains caused floodwaters to rise in their area.
The new housing unit was made possible through the National Housing Authority, with support from the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur, Governor Santiago B. Cane Jr., the Local Government Unit of Talacogon, and other partner agencies.
For the family, the condominium represents more than shelter. It offers a safer living environment, greater stability, and a fresh start as they continue to move forward after a difficult chapter in their lives.
