Kieffer Alas opened up about a frightening incident he experienced in Aurora during a team-building activity with the Ateneo Blue Eagles.

The rookie guard and former UAAP Juniors MVP shared that he does not know how to swim and was swept farther from shore with a group. He said he struggled to stay above water and was submerged for more than 20 seconds, reaching a point where he feared he might not survive.

Alas credited teammate Malcolm Tyler for helping save him during the ordeal. According to him, the 6-foot-10 Fil-Canadian kept guiding him to relax and float while also assisting others.

The young player later recalled the experience on the “Let’s Talk” podcast, describing it as one of the most terrifying moments of his life.
