MAYON VOLCANO REMAINS UNDER ALERT LEVEL 3;

Thick ashfall from Mayon Volcano affected at least 52 barangays in Albay, prompting continued warnings and emergency response efforts in nearby towns and cities.

Authorities said Camalig, Guinobatan and Ligao City were among the hardest-hit areas. Around 30,500 families were affected, with about 1,400 residents staying in evacuation centers.

Mayon remains under Alert Level 3 as volcanic activity continues, including lava movement, earthquakes and tremors. Aviation authorities have also restricted flights near the volcano for safety.
