Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokić and Minnesota Timberwolves forward Julius Randle have been fined by the NBA following a late-game altercation in Game 4 of their first-round playoff series.
The league announced that Jokić was fined $50,000 for initiating the confrontation after reacting to an uncontested layup by Minnesota’s Jaden McDaniels in the final seconds of a game already decided. Randle was fined $35,000 for escalating the situation after getting involved in the ensuing scuffle, including contact with Denver’s Bruce Brown.
Both players were issued technical fouls and ejected from the game but will still be available for Game 5 in Denver.
