Rita Gaviola widely known as “Badjao Girl,” expressed disappointment over a viral clip from The KoolPals podcast that discussed the Badjao community.

Gaviola said she felt hurt by remarks she believed were disrespectful and demeaning toward Badjao people. She stressed that members of the community deserve dignity and respect like anyone else.

She also addressed Nonong Ballinan directly, urging greater care and consideration when making comments that could affect or offend an entire community.
