SUPREME COURT ORDERS BONG SUNTAY AND FERDINAND TOPACIO TO RESPOND IN DISBARMENT CASE

The Supreme Court has directed Quezon City Representative Bong Suntay and lawyer Ferdinand Topacio to explain why they should not face disciplinary action, including possible disbarment, over remarks described as sexist and misogynistic toward actress Anne Curtis and other women.
In its resolution, the Court stressed that members of the legal profession are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, dignity, and professionalism in both their public statements and private conduct. Suntay and Topacio have been given 10 days from receiving the resolution to submit their explanations as the administrative proceedings continue.
