ATENEO COACH TAB BALDWIN MAKES PUBLIC APPEARANCE AFTER TEAM-BUILDING TRAGEDY

Ateneo head coach Tab Baldwin appeared publicly for the first time since the tragic drowning incident in Dipaculao, Aurora, joining the university community in mourning the deaths of student-athletes Divine Adili and Rene Baterbonia.
Baldwin attended a candle-lighting vigil at Ateneo’s Zen Garden, where players, students, school officials, and supporters gathered to honor Adili and Baterbonia. The solemn event served as a moment of remembrance and solidarity for a community still grieving the loss.
The tragedy has deeply shaken Ateneo and the wider Philippine sports community. A memorial Mass is also being held at the Ateneo chapel as tributes continue for the two athletes.
Ateneo earlier said Baldwin and team manager Epok Quimpo voluntarily went on leave to help preserve the independence, fairness, and integrity of the ongoing investigation into the incident.
