Circulating Extended Footage Raises Questions in C5 Rider–Police Incident

A circulating extended video of a road altercation along C5 Road in Pasig City has added context to a case that first went viral online. The longer footage appears to show interactions between a motorcycle rider and a uniformed police officer in the moments leading up to the collision, prompting renewed discussion about what really happened.

This comes after an earlier shorter clip gained attention for showing a police staff sergeant pushing a civilian’s motorcycle, causing the rider to lose balance and crash. That initial video sparked public outcry and intensified calls for accountability.

Following the spread of both clips, authorities have taken action. The officer involved was detained and is now facing criminal and administrative proceedings while the Philippine National Police (PNP) continues its investigation. The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has also issued a show cause order to the officer and temporarily suspended his driver’s license as part of ongoing reviews.
