CONDO UNIT AND ADDITIONAL SUPPORT CONFIRMED FOR FAMILY OF LATE ATHLETE RENE BATERBONIA

Agusan del Sur Governor Santiago Cane Jr. confirmed that the National Housing Authority (NHA) will be providing a condominium unit as housing assistance for the family of the late Ateneo student-athlete Rene Baterbonia.

In a Facebook announcement, Cane Jr. stated that the NHA coordinated with him to inform that a housing unit will be granted. The condominium is located at Sierra Madre Road, Bangkal, Davao City.

He also noted that representatives from NHA Region XIII are expected to visit the family to formally relay the assistance and complete the official turnover process.

Meanwhile, additional support has also been shared by private volunteers. In a separate message, a volunteer expressed heartfelt assistance for the Baterbonia family, stating:

“Hello po Sir! confirmed po, Home Suite by CLC Marketing Ventures Corp. will give furniture to furnish the condo unit po.”

The gesture was accompanied by messages of gratitude from supporters, highlighting the growing community assistance being extended to the bereaved family.

The announcement came shortly after Baterbonia’s burial, which was held Wednesday morning at the Barangay Labnig Memorial Cemetery in Talacogon, Agusan del Sur, his hometown.
