Former Ateneo student-athlete and broadcaster Gretchen Ho has urged transparency following the deaths of two Ateneo men’s basketball players during a team-building event in Dipaculao, Aurora.

Ho emphasized the importance of providing clear updates to prevent speculation and misinformation, noting the impact of the tragedy on the Ateneo community. She expressed confidence that the university will take steps to investigate the incident, support those affected, and ensure accountability.

The victims were identified as incoming rookie Rene Clert Baterbonia, 19, and Nigerian student-athlete Divine Adili, 21, whose untimely deaths have left students, teammates, and the broader community in mourning.
