LONG-TIME COACH OF RENE BATERBONIA MOURNS YOUNG ATHLETE’S PASSING

The passing of young basketball player Rene Baterbonia continues to bring deep sorrow to those who knew and supported him, including his long-time coach and mentor, Coach Jess Evangelio.

Coach Jess recently shared a glimpse of Rene’s wake and posted an emotional message inviting friends, classmates, teachers, teammates, and supporters to pay their respects. He also announced that Rene would be brought to Ateneo de Davao University Senior High School for a day, allowing the school community to offer prayers and say their final goodbye.

In his tribute, Coach Jess remembered Rene as a kind, hardworking, and dedicated athlete who loved basketball and inspired many people around him. As mourning continues, heartfelt messages and prayers have poured in for Rene and his grieving family.
