KAREN DAVILA URGES FILIPINOS NOT TO LOSE SIGHT OF FLOOD CONTROL ISSUE

Broadcaster Karen Davila has called on the public to keep attention on the ongoing controversy surrounding flood control projects as heavy monsoon rains continue to affect commuters and communities.

Davila raised the issue after images and videos showed passengers dealing with floodwaters inside a commuter bus during heavy rains on Monday, August 17.

In her statement, the veteran broadcaster stressed that public attention should remain focused on allegations involving possible irregularities in flood control spending and provisions connected to the 2025 national budget.

She also emphasized the need for accountability as authorities continue examining the projects and transactions under scrutiny.

Davila’s remarks reflect growing public concern over whether funds intended for flood prevention and infrastructure have been used effectively, especially as recurring floods continue to disrupt transportation, homes, businesses, and daily life.

She urged Filipinos not to lose sight of the issue and called for those found responsible for any proven wrongdoing to be held accountable through the proper legal and investigative processes.
