MACHONG CHISMISAN ISSUES PUBLIC APOLOGY, REMOVES CONTROVERSIAL EPISODE FOLLOWING BACKLASH OVER JOSH AQUINO REMARKS

he Machong Chismisan podcast has issued a public apology and removed a controversial episode following widespread criticism over comments involving Joshua “Josh” Aquino, the son of Kris Aquino, who has special needs.
In its official statement, the podcast confirmed that Season 29, Episode 20, originally released on October 5, 2026, had been taken down. The group also stopped sharing clips from the episode to prevent further distress to those affected.
The hosts acknowledged that although their podcast has focused on comedy and entertainment since 2014, some remarks in the deleted episode crossed the line and were insensitive and hurtful.
They extended their apologies to those affected, particularly the persons with disabilities (PWD) community and individuals mentioned during the discussion.
One of the hosts, Makoy Pare, also expressed their intention to privately reach out to the people involved and explore respectful ways to address the harm caused.
Moving forward, the group promised to be more responsible when reviewing future episodes and to immediately address inappropriate or potentially offensive remarks during their discussions.
Despite the apology, the controversy has continued to raise questions about accountability, responsible content creation, and the importance of showing respect toward individuals with disabilities.
The podcast acknowledged that while they cannot please everyone, they can take responsibility for their mistakes and work toward becoming better content creators.
